Description
A cottage right on the lake Håckstaviken, 15 km east of Hudiksvall and halfway to Hölicks sea resort at the end of Hornslands headland. On a separate headland right next to the lake is our cottage, painted traditionally “falu-red” and a real summer idyll.
The cottage is accessed from a small road shared by 4 other cottages. It consists of a large cabin with fireplace, kitchen with fridge and freezer and running water from own well, 3 sleeping alcoves with a total of 5 beds, bathroom with a combustion toilet, shower and sauna and a loft with another 4-5 beds. There is also an old-fashioned outdoor toilet.
The cottage has a large porch which is widely used for dining out and enjoying the beautiful view of Håckstaviken. The plot is large with a BBQ, a pizza oven, a sandbox and swings and several seating areas making it possible to enjoy the sun all day long. In addition, there is a canoe to paddle along the lake.
The lake warms up quickly in the summer with bathing temperatures around 20-25 degrees at its own jetty. In the lake you can fish pike and perch. At walking or rowing distance there is also a public bathing area with jetties and in the forest on the mountain bend behind the cottage you can hike and pick blueberries (July-August) and lingonberries (August-September). If you want to make a tour to the sea, it is about 15 km to Hölick with a fishing village, a chapel, a nice campsite, hiking trails and 2 lovely sandy beaches.
The nearest shops, bank, restaurants and Systembolag (well assorted shop for alcoholic drinks) are located in the charming wooden town of Hudiskvall at about 20 minutes drive. In Hälsingland you can also visit one of the many Hälsingland farms (World Heritage Site) or find a farm auction in one of the villages. A leisurely excursion is to peddle the dressin along the closed railway between Delsbo and Forsa.

• Mobile phone coverage is very good - however, there is no Wifi.
• At a secluded part of the plot there is another cottage that is not included in the rental. For a number of weeks per summer, it is inhabited and thus there is both a good guide and help available when needed.
