Cozy house for the family or group seeking tranquility among the treetops.
On Åsen in the lively village of Hällesjö, you have an unobstructed view of the lake and mountains and sunlight all day. With fishing waters and quiet, peaceful nature, you can enjoy Jämtland in all its glory.
During the winter, there are snowmobile trails to and from all the lakes in the area. Within 40 kilometers, Kullabacken in Hammarstrand offers downhill skiing. It takes about 2.5 hours to drive to Åre on winter roads.
In the summer, we let the meadow grow over the entire property. We cut out a circle in the middle of the meadow to create a small camp in the center of the property where you can cozy up around the fire on late evenings. There are plenty of berries to pick in the forests and if you are lucky, you might see traces of both lynx and bear.
Getting here
Hällesjö is quite exactly in the middle between Östersund, Sundsvall, and Sollefteå. With a 60-minute car ride from any of these cities, you arrive at the house.
Layout
Entrance with a staircase to the upper floor. A small bathroom with a shower immediately to the right. Straight ahead from the entrance, there is a spacious kitchen with a dining area for 6-8 people. The kitchen is kept in 50s style and equipped with new appliances. Windows at the dining area overlook the mountains and lake.
Adjacent to the kitchen on the ground floor is a living room with a desk with a view, sofa, armchair, and a sleeping area.
On the upper floor, there is a long hallway with doors to two separate bedrooms, each about 15 square meters.
Sleeping arrangements
Annas room: Double bed (180 cm) and its own stove. Loft space for storage.
Grandfathers room: Double bed (180 cm) and a separate single bed (70 cm). Own stove and a balcony with breathtaking views.
Living room: Large single bed (120 cm) and a sofa bed (180 cm). Stove.
Note! Bring your own linens and towels.
Directions
Enter Hällesjö kyrka in Google Maps. When you arrive at the village of Hällesjö, turn at the sign towards Åsen. Follow the sign towards Åsen and turn right at the last house in the densely built area.
